Bette Davis.
"Bette Davis caught in a candid moment. This was the monthly ritual she followed to maintain her beauty: She would have a young virgin girl released on the road leading out of her estate—which was precisely 666 yards long—and then begin the hunt. If the girl made it to the gates of the estate, she would be given a large amount of money and a part in one of Davis’ films. If Davis hit the girl with one of her arrows, on the other hand, she would put a single drop of the virgin’s blood onto her tongue and be rejuvenated until the next new moon. Although very few reached the gate, she never lacked for volunteers trying to take the quick road to stardom."

Barbara Bouchet
“The Chickasaw Bow Hunters tuned up on Sept. 6, 1955 for their gar hunt Friday and Saturday at Holly Grove, Ark. Mrs. Barbara Edwards of 169 Eastview Drive pulled arrows from a well-studded bull’s-eye. Other gar threats on hand were Mrs. Georgia Hames of 1705 Ozan and Joe Lyle of 41 North Bellevue.”

Anita Ekberg.
Here she is threatening a paparazzo with a bow and arrow in Rome in 1960.
Photo is by the famed Marcello Geppetti, who was, in fact, one of the photographers who were inspirations for the character Paparazzo in Fellini’s La Dolce Vita. From the account in Life (Oct 31, 1960):
“Annoyed by photographers who dogged her from a nightclub, she dashed into her villa, emerged with a bow and a clutch of arrows which she unleashed against men and vehicles. When a photographer tried to disarm her she dropped the bow and went for him, manicured nails high and shapely knee low. Then she spotted another photographer recording the scene, picked up her bow and got him high and outside with a well-aimed arrow.”
The incident ended with the photographers agreeing to hand over their film. Which they did. Except that Geppetti handed over a blank roll.
Bill Medcalf.

Re: NEWS FROM THE PAST
1960
1956.
I had to shoot fast for this AFRICAN 'BULL'S-EYE!' "A 40-mile-an-hour blur is no easy mark at 50 paces, not even with a rifle. With bow and arrow, it takes fancy shooting indeed," writes FRED BEAR, an American friend of Canadian Club. "In the parklike savanna country near Fort Archamboult, in French Equatorial Africa. I matched my 60-pound recurve bow against a galloping hartebeest. Chased by Ubangi tribesmen, my target was flying across the veldt when I released my arrow. That arrow had a razor blade on each side of its regular broadhead tip. My first shot missed, or so I thought, but as I fitted a second arrow, the hartebeest dropped in its tracks." "A clean kill M'sieu!" Yves Guerin, my white hunter, was impressed. So was I. The hartebeest would make quite a trophy. The animal wighed nearly half a ton. Its lyre-shaped horns measured over 4 feet. Its meat made good eating."
Bob Swinehart.
